HI, I’M PHILIPPA BRADFORD

Accessibility expert, wheelchair user, and a passionate advocate for inclusive access to the arts.

I’m on a mission to revolutionise accessibility in the arts and culture industry. Given the accessible tourism market is worth over £15 billion, access for all isn’t just a moral imperative. It’s a business opportunity and strategic advantage.

Disabled people bring tremendous value to the sector, as customers, employees and artists. Removing barriers gives your organisation access to a vast, largely untapped audience and workforce, leading to increased visitors, greater visitor satisfaction and a lasting, positive impact on revenue and profit.

I’m here to guide you and your venue on this transformative journey. Together, we’ll create spaces and experiences that are not only accessible, but inviting and inclusive for all.

I’m qualified to address a wide range of disabilities in my work, including autism, dementia, mobility and physical disabilities, and those who are blind, visually impaired and/or D/deaf. Alongside this, my unique personal perspective and lived experience affords me genuine empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by disabled individuals.

Did You Know?

In the UK, there are roughly 16 million people living with a disability (DWP 21/22). That’s 24% of the total population. Every single person either knows someone with a disability or has a disability themselves, if not now then potentially at some point in the future.

my vision

I want to create a world where every individual, regardless of their abilities, can access and engage with arts and culture.

Not every mind or body will experience these things the same way, but every mind and body is entitled to the experience.

Philippa’s disability training session exceeded my expectations in a lot of ways. Her expertise and lived experience as a wheelchair user added authenticity that is often lacking in such sessions. Philippa’s training was not only educational but also inspiring. I walked away not just with knowledge about disability and accessibility but with a newfound appreciation for the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Philippa’s ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and relatable manner made the training both enjoyable and enlightening. I would wholeheartedly recommend Philippa’s sessions to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of disability and inclusivity.
